SAILS UP: AN INSIDE LOOK

OUR WHY
From our church’s founding on September 16, 1866, long term vision has always been a vital objective for the members of FBC-Clinton. We have been blessed with great facilities with room to grow. But since our relocation to Vansant Road in 2015, we have seen some significant growth in our family and in our missional footprint throughout the world. In order to train and equip those that wish to partner in our mission, we must take a giant step of faith and cast that vision well out into the future. Our church has voted to address this by conducting a capital stewardship campaign with a theme of Sails Up! The Holy Spirit has been moving in our midst and the wind of change is upon us. It is our time to be obedient and hoist our sails to capture that wind and propel us forward into the future! We exist to fulfill the Great Commission and to make much of Jesus. This is an opportunity to invest in this mission and provide the facilities necessary to achieve His mission! We have five main areas of focus for the next phase of growth at FBC-Clinton along with some bonus space that compliments these areas.
- Permanent 700 seat sanctuary with room to expand
- Business office area for ministry and admin staff
- Additional space for KidMin growth
- Dedicated space for Student Ministry
- Additional adult Sunday school space
Increased gathering space for individual and group discipleship growth will come with the addition of the above areas. Please be in prayer for this great opportunity to partner with God and each other to meet the commitments and success of the Sails Up! capital stewardship campaign!

OTHER WAYS TO GIVE
Many families ask, How can I make a worthy commitment for our Church’s future? Perhaps your family may be able to give more generously by using other ways or sources of giving than by a weekly or monthly cash flow. As you pray about your family’s response in the Sails Up campaign, you might find the information below helpful.
- Give an asset (real property, stocks, bonds, other investments) directly to the church for resale. If you are unable to give an asset in its entirety, perhaps you might sell it to the church at a bargain price. (Giving appreciated stock can help avoid capital gains taxes, as well as being a contribution.)
- Set up a charitable remainder or revocable living trust, a gift or deferred gift annuity, making the church the ultimate beneficiary of the trust.
- Give through your corporation rather than from personal assets and income.
- Make the church the beneficiary of an insurance policy that is no longer needed for the protection of your family.
- Provide for the church through your will.
- If you give in cash, consider giving the tax savings that your gift allows as well.
Before making a decision about which ways are best for you, you need to consult with a qualified tax professional (i.e., attorney, C.P.A., trust officers).
MAKING YOUR COMMITMENT

The commitment phase of the Sails Up Capital Campaign has officially begun! Commitment cards will be arriving in mailboxes the first week of April. We invite you to join us in prayerfully considering how God is leading you to be part of what He is doing through our church. Once completed, you may return your card to the church office or place it in the Sails Up collection box in the church lobby.
Once you have prayerfully considered your commitment, please return your card no later than Sunday, April 19th. At the conclusion of the commitment phase of the capital campaign, we will host a special Celebration Sunday, on April 26th, announcing the grand total of commitments for the future expansion of First Baptist. Then, the three-year giving period will begin on May 3, for First Fruits Sunday.
How will I fulfill my commitment?
You can fulfill your commitment by giving through our regular methods, but by designating your gift specifically to “Sails Up”.
